Our client is building the procurement layer for the Caribbean food industry — a business-to-business marketplace that connects restaurants, hotels, and food businesses directly with suppliers in one place. No more phone calls. No more spreadsheets. No more chasing invoices. Supply, simplified.

The platform exists. The vision is clear. The first relationships are already forming. What comes next is execution — and that starts with the people who will help build the marketplace from the ground up and grow with it across the Caribbean.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The way food businesses across Trinidad and the Caribbean procure supplies is broken. Orders happen over WhatsApp. Pricing lacks consistency. Relationships are fragmented. There is no single platform where restaurants can browse suppliers, compare products, place orders, and track deliveries within one workflow.

Our client is changing that.

The business is a B2B procurement marketplace connecting suppliers — distributors, farms, seafood companies, dairy producers, and wholesalers — directly with restaurants, hotels, caterers, and food businesses that buy from them every week.

Suppliers list products and receive orders digitally. Buyers browse, order, and manage procurement from one dashboard.

The company is launching in Trinidad and Tobago with plans to scale throughout the Caribbean.

THE ROLE

The Growth Lead brings the marketplace to life on both sides — suppliers and buyers — guiding each new customer through to their first successful order on the platform.

Once the first order is completed, the relationship transitions to the Operations Lead, who manages the ongoing customer experience. The Growth Lead then focuses on the next supplier, the next restaurant, and the next partnership opportunity.

Initially, the role focuses heavily on Trinidad and Tobago. As the marketplace grows, the role evolves into expansion across Caribbean markets, strategic partnerships, and deeper commercial growth initiatives.

During quieter operational periods, the Growth Lead will also support the Operations Lead where needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Supplier Acquisition

  • Identify, contact, and verify suppliers across food categories including produce, meats, dairy, beverages, dry goods, and packaging
  • Manage end-to-end supplier onboarding:
    • Account creation
    • Product listing setup
    • Pricing configuration
    • Training
    • First order activation
  • Train supplier teams to confidently use the platform
  • Build strong supplier relationships that support long-term retention

Restaurant & Buyer Acquisition

  • Identify and engage restaurants, hotels, caterers, and food businesses across Trinidad and Tobago
  • Conduct outreach through calls, meetings, walk-ins, email, and networking
  • Convert leads into active platform users
  • Manage buyer onboarding through first order completion
  • Transition relationships cleanly to Operations with full account context

Partnerships & Market Presence

  • Build relationships with hospitality associations, culinary groups, and industry bodies
  • Attend industry events and represent the company in the market
  • Generate referrals and grow the network through relationship-building

Pipeline & Handoff Management

  • Build and manage a structured prospect pipeline
  • Maintain accurate prospect and onboarding records
  • Deliver complete handoffs to Operations including:
    • Business profile
    • Product preferences
    • Contact preferences
    • Relationship history

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success means:

  • Suppliers onboarded and actively fulfilling orders

  • A growing pipeline of active marketplace users
  • Strong onboarding and activation rates
  • A marketplace reaching critical mass because of your work

Performance targets relating to supplier sign-ups, buyer acquisition, activation rates, and time-to-first-order will be established during the hiring process.

COMPENSATION & GROWTH

  • Base Salary: TTD $7,500 per month
  • Commission structure available for achieving and exceeding targets
  • Significant growth opportunities as the business scales regionally
