Electronic Security Team Lead

Job Title: Electronic Security Team Lead

Job Summary: To manage and coordinate all activities related to the installation, repair and maintenance of electronic alarm, access and detection systems for the Group of Companies and its clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To manage a team of technicians in all activities related to supply, installation, repair and maintenance of electronic systems consisting of, but not limited to, access control projects, CCTV, Intruder Detection Systems and Automatic Operators
  • To contribute to the overall strategic planning process by bringing current knowledge and future vision of integrated security systems technology towards a competitive advantage
  • To develop specifications and assist in determining costings for new projects/jobs/contracts based on customer
  • To plan activities related to these projects/jobs, assign to technicians and monitor execution of these activities and provide regular progress reports
  • To liaise with team members, clients, consultants, contractors and manufacturers on CCTV Systems, ANPR Systems, Access Control Systems, Intruder Detection Systems, IT Infrastructure, Fit-out requirements,
  • To consistently monitor the operations of the Electronic Security Systems Department towards implementing proper systems, policies and procedures that will drive continuous improvements and bring operational efficiency, cost effectiveness and maximum customer satisfaction
  • To work closely with the Marketing Department towards generating and closing new business leads
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software, and liaise with the Procurement Lead with regard to purchases required
  • To provide reports to Executive Management on all activities conducted in the Department

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited institution
  • Certification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering would be an asset
  • Certification in Project Management would be an asset
  • A minimum of eight (8) years’ related experience in any large or medium size organization in the areas of electronic security systems such as the installation of CCTV camera and recording systems, physical access control and identification technologies, perimeter protection, security management/command-control-communications systems, systems integration – at least five (5) of which should be in a Supervisory
  • Sound working knowledge of network infrastructure
  • Knowledge of international standards for electronic security systems would be an asset
  • Must own a properly working vehicle and have a valid Driver’s license (Heavy-T preferred)
