Our client is seeking to onboard a Cost Controller on a one-year contract to support their finance operations.

Job Purpose

The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring expenditure and ensuring the accurate recording of costs. The role works closely with internal departments and external vendors to ensure alignment between recorded expenses and services delivered.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare SAP MM documentation, including Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), Service Orders (SO), and Service Entry Sheets (SES), in coordination with relevant stakeholders
• Ensure strict adherence to invoice and requisition workflow processes
• Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to effectively monitor and control expenses
• Conduct contract analysis, including account allocations, cost classification (fixed vs. variable), and tracking invoiced versus committed costs
• Ensure all expenses are accurately recorded with the appropriate account assignments
• Prepare monthly accruals in a timely and accurate manner
• Perform monthly cost reallocations to support accurate financial reporting
• Assist in the preparation of forecasts and annual budgets based on departmental inputs
• Conduct cost and variance analysis to support monthly reporting
• Support departments with cost reviews and provide analysis on key contracts
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry in a similar role (e.g., Cost Analyst, Cost Controller, or related positions)
• Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial processes
• Experience working with SAP and Microsoft Office tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
