Brand Manager

Job Title: Brand Manager

Reports To: Brand Director
Department: New Vehicle Sales
Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

Job Summary

Under the governance and supervision of the Brand Director, the Brand Manager is responsible for driving the success and overall performance of the assigned brand. The role includes oversight of all related administrative functions, marketing activities, sales performance, stock inventory management, and human resources within the assigned brand portfolio.

The incumbent will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening brand equity, achieving business targets, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, and delivering a consistently high standard of customer experience. This includes ensuring that all customer touchpoints reflect professionalism, efficiency, and service excellence.

The incumbent is also expected to invest the necessary time to become fully conversant with the Company’s Dealer Management System, HSS&E requirements, CRM platform, and all other relevant systems, policies, and procedures. A strong understanding and application of these systems is essential to support operational effectiveness, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve the overall customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative

  • Act as the liaison between the supplier and/or regional offices on all brand-related matters.
  • Set budgets, quotas, and incentives for the brand and sales team.
  • Manage, utilise, and maintain vehicle flowcharts and other productivity tools, including arrivals, waitlists, forecasts, and related reports.
  • Execute existing reports and design and implement new reports as necessary or required.
  • Assist in determining monthly purchases to support inventory control based on projected customer demand.
  • Determine current and new vehicle specifications and pricing based on market conditions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that all inventory is properly accounted for at all times.
  • Take the necessary action to maintain inventory in good working condition.
  • Plan and implement incentives, and monitor and approve same as necessary.
  • Set policies and procedures for the department to ensure efficient operations and achievement or surpassing of agreed KPIs.
  • Address staff and customer concerns and complaints in a timely, effective, and professional manner to maintain good standing and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Marketing

  • Contribute to the overall brand marketing strategy in collaboration with the Marketing Department and/or Marketing Agency.
  • Ensure marketing plans are aligned with the overall marketing strategy and brand guidelines.
  • Study market trends and consumer preferences to understand customer expectations and adopt a suitable approach to brand management.
  • Keep abreast of developments within the automotive market in the region.
  • Maintain market intelligence records, including market information and customer data.
  • Prepare analyses and reports to support overall decision-making on brand marketing.
  • Ensure that the Company’s database for the brand is updated with all relevant customer information in a timely manner.

Sales

  • Contribute to the overall sales strategy.
  • Review and monitor sales plan implementation and results achieved on a regular basis.
  • Make changes to the strategy or approach to adapt to changes in the business environment.
  • Communicate sales plans and targets to the sales team, and provide sufficient training, guidance, and motivation to support successful achievement of targets.
  • Manage all aspects of the showroom to ensure high standards in layout, display, housekeeping, and product information, in order to convey the desired image of the brand and the Company to potential purchasers.
  • Plan, monitor, and control the activities of the sales force to achieve stated objectives and targets.
  • Ensure sales representatives utilise the provided CRM platform at all times.
  • Ensure that internal controls for all sales-related activities are adhered to, and that transactions are carried out in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures and the requirements of the Dealer Management System.
  • Monitor the sales process, including initial customer contact and reception, clarification of needs, identification of prospects, follow-up on initial contact, final closure of sale, and quality of sales documentation, to ensure quality and transparency throughout the process.
  • Ensure that the Company’s policies and procedures relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT) are adhered to, and that Know Your Customer (KYC) forms are completed in full and in a timely manner.
  • Make improvements to sales activities as necessary.

Vehicle Sales Forecasting

  • Develop, maintain, and regularly review accurate vehicle sales forecasts based on market trends, historical data, and business objectives.

Aged Stock Management and Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to manage and reduce aged vehicle stock.
  • Identify slow-moving units, analyse contributing factors, and execute targeted action plans to improve stock turnover, minimise holding costs, and optimise overall inventory performance.

Human Resources

  • Develop team spirit among the sales team and support staff to create an environment that fosters professionalism and good working relations at all levels.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of sales and related personnel.
  • Manage employee comments, questions, and concerns related to the brand.

HSS&E

  • Ensure that the Company’s HSS&E management system, as well as Occupational Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental requirements, are adhered to at all times.

New Vehicle Brand Relationship

  • Maintain close liaison with other Brand Managers and Managers, as required, to ensure proper coordination of activities.

Critical Customer Issue Resolution and Escalation Management

  • Manage critical problems, major customer complaints, or escalated issues, ensuring prompt action or decisions to support timely resolution.

Market Engagement and Business Relationship Development

  • Establish and maintain a network of business contacts and relationships within the market to increase market awareness and obtain market, competitor, and customer preference information.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc in Business Management, Marketing, or a similar qualification.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience across sales, marketing, or operations.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and drive revenue.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Commercial mindset with hands-on execution ability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, accountability-driven environment.
