Accountant

We are currently seeking a multifaceted and competent Accountant for a client based in Chaguanas. The ideal candidate should be capable of confidently executing a broad range of accounting duties, while demonstrating a high level of honesty, integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.

This is a 6-month renewable contract, offering a salary of TTD $15,000 per month plus 20% gratuity, with an anticipated start date of September 1st.

Accounts Payable

• Entering Invoices
• Accounts Payable Cheque run in strict compliance with internal authorization controls.

Statutory Payments

• Board of Inland Revenue- Preparation of form and payment of PAYE/ Health Surcharge
• National Insurance Board- Preparation of forms and payment of NIS Contributions
• Business and Green fund levies

Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management

• Perform monthly financial close activities, variance analysis, and prepare monthly financial management accounts.
• Prepare, review, and post all manual journal entries and accrual calculations with complete supporting documentation.
• Maintain and update active schedules for fixed assets, prepayments, and monthly recurring liabilities

Treasury

• Prepare accurate monthly bank reconciliations for all company chequing and foreign currency accounts, ensuring proper preparer/approver sign-offs.
• Cashflow forecasting
• Petty Cash management
• Status of investments

Audit Support & Deliverables

• Coordinate directly with external auditors to prepare and submit required audit schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure all audit readiness items (bank confirmations, journal entry reviews, schedules, and accruals) are fully reconciled and agreed to the General Ledger.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: ACCA Level 2 (completed), ACCA Qualified, or a BSc in Accounting/Finance from a recognized institution.

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and external audit preparation.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (variance analysis, reconciliations) and financial accounting software (Peachtree, etc).

Core Competencies: High level of professional integrity, strict adherence to confidentiality, strong interpersonal communication, and the ability to operate unsupervised with tight reporting deadlines.
