Trade Marketing Manager – Suriname
Job Summary
The Trade Marketing Manager – Suriname is responsible for developing and executing integrated consumer and trade marketing strategies that drive brand growth, increase product consumption, and strengthen relationships with consumers and trade partners. The role adapts global and regional brand strategies to the local Surinamese market, ensuring marketing initiatives are culturally relevant, commercially effective, and aligned with business objectives. Working closely with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Digital Marketing, and external stakeholders, the incumbent delivers impactful consumer campaigns, trade programs, product launches, promotions, and activations that enhance brand visibility, market share, and return on investment.
Job Responsibilities
Consumer Marketing
- Develop and implement consumer-focused marketing plans based on market research, consumer insights, demographic trends, and psychographic data.
- Design and execute consumer engagement initiatives, beverage activations, and community-based marketing programs.
- Collaborate with Category Managers, Digital Marketing, and Social Media teams to develop campaigns that align global brand standards with local market needs.
- Lead and coordinate product launches, seasonal promotions, sponsorships, and community events to maximize brand awareness and consumer participation.
- Monitor consumer marketing performance and recommend improvements to optimize campaign effectiveness and return on investment.
Trade Marketing
- Develop and execute trade marketing plans that support sales objectives, including merchandising, promotional activities, retail visibility, and space optimization.
- Build strong relationships with trade partners, distributors, retailers, and store managers to enhance product presence and promotional execution.
- Monitor, evaluate, and analyze trade marketing initiatives to measure effectiveness and optimize resource allocation.
- Manage trade marketing budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with overall marketing objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve in-store execution, trade engagement, and customer experience.
Integrated Marketing Strategy
- Serve as the key link between consumer marketing and trade marketing functions to ensure integrated planning and execution.
- Align consumer campaigns with trade promotions to drive product awareness, trial, purchase, and loyalty.
- Translate regional and global marketing strategies into locally relevant initiatives that support business growth.
- Monitor campaign performance metrics and market trends, using insights to refine strategies and improve results.
- Ensure consistency of brand messaging and execution across all consumer and trade touchpoints.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
- Collaborate with the General Manager, Sales Team, Finance Department, Supply Chain Team, Category Managers, Trade Marketing Team, Regional Marketing Team, and Digital Marketing Team to ensure successful execution of marketing initiatives.
- Work closely with advertising agencies, media partners, market research firms, suppliers, vendors, and community organizations to deliver marketing programs.
- Provide regular updates and market intelligence to regional and senior leadership teams, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and competitive developments.
- Partner with government and regulatory bodies as required to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Financial and Performance Management
- Develop, manage, and monitor marketing budgets to maximize effectiveness and cost efficiency.
- Analyze market data, consumer insights, campaign results, and trade performance metrics to support decision-making.
- Prepare reports and presentations on marketing performance, market trends, and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure all marketing investments deliver measurable business outcomes and support organizational objectives.

Job Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in consumer marketing, trade marketing, or related marketing roles.
- Experience within the FMCG and/or beverage industry is preferred.
- Additional marketing certifications, management training, or professional development courses are considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience managing marketing budgets, campaigns, and trade initiatives.
Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and trade marketing principles.
- Understanding of FMCG and beverage industry trends, retail environments, and route-to-market strategies.
- Knowledge of integrated marketing communications, brand management, and promotional planning.
- Understanding of budgeting, financial management, and marketing return-on-investment analysis.
- Knowledge of digital marketing platforms, social media strategies, CRM systems, and marketing analytics tools.
- Familiarity with local market conditions, consumer preferences, and cultural dynamics within Suriname.
