Inventory Analyst
Our client in the east is recruiting an Inventory Analyst on a six (6) contract, with the possibility of permanent placement.
Salary range: $10,000–$12,000
Job Purpose:
The Inventory Analyst supports the warehouse and procurement operations by ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient stock movement, and compliance with HACCP food safety standards. This role is key to maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimizing waste, and supporting the catering operation’s readiness and quality.
Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods within the warehouse and stores.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits; investigate and resolve variances.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and storage practices in line with HACCP guidelines.
- Analyze inventory trends and usage patterns to support procurement planning and reduce overstock or stockouts.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for internal stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of inventory control systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all inventory handling, labeling, and storage procedures comply with HACCP and internal food safety protocols.
- Assist in training warehouse and stores personnel on inventory best practices and food safety compliance.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to align inventory strategies with operational goals.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, preferably in a food service or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety standards.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Skills/Competencies
- Experience with ERP or WMS platforms (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle).
- Familiarity with airline catering or large-scale food production logistics.
Key Experience Areas:
- Hands-on experience managing inventory in a warehouse or stores environment.
- Proven track record of conducting inventory counts, reconciling variances, and maintaining accurate stock records.
- Familiarity with HACCP standards and food safety protocols in a storage or production setting.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and production teams to ensure inventory accuracy and availability.
- Experience analyzing inventory data to support forecasting, procurement, and operational planning.
- Participation in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and warehouse efficiency.
Physical requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during inventory counts and warehouse inspections.
- Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 lbs. (9 kg) as needed.
- Comfortable working in cold storage environments (e.g., chillers and freezers) while adhering to food safety protocols.
- Manual dexterity to operate handheld scanners, tablets, and other inventory tools.
- Visual acuity to read labels, documents, and digital screens accurately.
- The ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, hairnets, and safety shoes in compliance with HACCP and company standards.
Travel requirements:
This role may require moving between business locations locally, for example between the office and locations located within the airport and surroundings; or to supplier facilities.
