Accounts Payables / Payroll

Our client in the Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Storage industry, for the Energy (Oil & Gas), Construction, and Manufacturing sectors is seeking to hire Accounts Payable/Payroll Officer on a temporary contract for period of two (2) to three (3) months.

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Payroll Officer to support its Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals.
  • Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs, including cheques and electronic transfers.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to supplier inquiries.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation.

Payroll

  • Collect and verify employee timesheets, attendance records, and overtime.
  • Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, statutory contributions, and employee benefits.
  • Prepare and distribute employee payslips.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data confidentiality.
  • Respond to employee payroll-related queries.
  • Assist with statutory remittances, including PAYE, NIS, Health Surcharge, VAT, and other regulatory filings.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • ACCA Level I & II or an equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ accounting experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas, construction, or contractor services industry.
  • Sound knowledge of general accounting principles and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using computerized accounting and payroll software.
