Accounts Payables / Payroll
Our client in the Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Storage industry, for the Energy (Oil & Gas), Construction, and Manufacturing sectors is seeking to hire Accounts Payable/Payroll Officer on a temporary contract for period of two (2) to three (3) months.
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Payroll Officer to support its Finance Department.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals.
- Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices.
- Prepare weekly payment runs, including cheques and electronic transfers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to supplier inquiries.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation.
Payroll
- Collect and verify employee timesheets, attendance records, and overtime.
- Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Calculate wages, deductions, statutory contributions, and employee benefits.
- Prepare and distribute employee payslips.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data confidentiality.
- Respond to employee payroll-related queries.
- Assist with statutory remittances, including PAYE, NIS, Health Surcharge, VAT, and other regulatory filings.
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- ACCA Level I & II or an equivalent accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ accounting experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas, construction, or contractor services industry.
- Sound knowledge of general accounting principles and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using computerized accounting and payroll software.
