Accountant

Our client within the Financial Sector is seeking to onboard a Temporary Accountant Resource for their POS office.

Reports To: Finance Manager

Duration: Temporary

Scope of Duties

The Accountant Resource will be responsible for the following:

• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including variance analyses.

• Preparing accounting schedules to facilitate the Commission’s annual audit.

• Preparing the Commission’s financial statements and accompanying notes in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

• Preparing bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.

• Preparing and reviewing journals and general ledger postings to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements.

• Preparing and ensuring the accurate computation and remittance of taxes, including quarterly and withholding taxes.

• Developing departmental templates and liaising with functional Directors and Managers to obtain the required data.

• Collating budget data for incorporation into the master budget schedule.

• Assisting the Finance Manager with the completion of the budget package for submission to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

• Verifying the monthly reconciliation of prepayments and accruals.

• Performing any other job-related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• ACCA Level II or an equivalent qualification.

• At least three (3) years of relevant work experience.
