Business Analyst I

Our client is seeking to hire a BUSINESS ANALYST I.

Department: Information Technology (IT)
Reports To: IT Manager

We are seeking a Business Analyst I to join our Information Technology team. The successful candidate will bridge business needs and technology solutions by supporting business applications, identifying opportunities for process improvement, troubleshooting system issues, and assisting with technology-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain and support the company’s business software applications.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend system improvements and solutions.
  • Provide user support and troubleshoot business application issues.
  • Monitor systems and databases to maintain data integrity and security.
  • Manage user accounts, access privileges and software licenses.
  • Use SQL to generate basic database queries and reports.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports and user guides.
  • Assist with software upgrades, updates, testing and implementation.
  • Conduct user orientation and training on IT systems and applications.
  • Participate in small to medium-scale IT projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct research and recommend technology solutions that improve business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with IT, HSSE, security and company policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with at least 3 years’ relevant experience in an ICT environment, particularly Business Software Administration; OR
  • Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline, with at least 7 years’ relevant experience in Business Software Administration.
  • Experience with relational databases/RDBMS and SQL.
  • Good programming skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of business processes including financial management, procurement, inventory/warehousing and maintenance/work order management is an asset.
  • MCSE certification would be an advantage.
