Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Flexible based on customer requirements)
Weekend work may be required during stock counts and other operational requirements.
Position Summary
The Outside Sales Associate is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships while promoting and selling Ferguson Trinidad and Tobago Ltd.’s products and services within the building infrastructure, construction, industrial, and maintenance sectors. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, manage customer accounts, prepare quotations, and drive sales growth through regular customer engagement and follow-up.
This position is ideal for a confident, self-motivated sales professional who enjoys working in the field, building relationships, and achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Conduct regular customer visits to identify opportunities and promote company products and services.
- Generate new business opportunities and expand the customer base.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and product recommendations based on customer requirements.
- Follow up on quotations, enquiries, and sales opportunities to secure business.
- Meet or exceed established sales targets and performance objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer orders are processed and delivered efficiently.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond promptly to customer enquiries.
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites, meetings, and industry events.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) CSEC subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
- At least five (5) years of customer-facing experience.
- Proven sales experience with a demonstrated ability to close sales successfully.
- Valid Driver’s Permit and access to a reliable, well-maintained vehicle.
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn company software and systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good attendance record and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or a related field would be an asset.
- Experience within the industrial, construction, infrastructure, engineering, plumbing, or building materials sectors.
- Knowledge of industrial products, applications, and their related customer base.
- Experience in business development and account management.

Health & Safety
The successful candidate must comply with all company health and safety policies and procedures. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other required safety gear will be provided and must be worn when visiting customer sites, warehouses, and operational facilities.
