Mechanical Technician
Position Summary

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and testing of mechanical equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety while working on a wide range of mechanical systems, machinery, rotating equipment, and industrial assets.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems. Inspect machinery, equipment, and components to identify defects, wear, and potential failures. Conduct routine maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications. Ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency through proactive maintenance practices. Diagnose mechanical faults and equipment malfunctions. Perform repairs on pumps, compressors, generators, engines, conveyors, motors, valves, and other mechanical systems. Replace worn or defective components and restore equipment to operational condition. Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and drawings to troubleshoot equipment issues. Assist with the installation, alignment, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery. Support project teams during equipment upgrades and facility expansions. Ensure installations comply with technical specifications and safety requirements. Participate in equipment performance testing and commissioning activities. Conduct equipment inspections and condition monitoring activities. Monitor vibration, temperature, lubrication, and mechanical performance indicators. Identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Prepare inspection reports and maintenance recommendations. Comply with company HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices. Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments. Ensure work activities are performed safely and efficiently. Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly. Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders. Prepare maintenance reports and equipment history documentation. Update maintenance management systems and equipment databases. Provide technical feedback and recommendations to supervisors and engineers.
Qualifications & Experience
Technical Diploma, Certificate, Associate Degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field. Minimum of 2–5 years of mechanical maintenance or technician experience. Experience within Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing, Mining, Marine Services, Utilities, Construction, or Industrial Operations would be highly desirable. Experience working with rotating equipment and maintenance systems is an asset. Ref: CM
