The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, supporting budgeting processes, and providing financial insights to support business operations and strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within dynamic business environments.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Maintain accurate general ledger records and accounting entries. Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Monitor financial performance and identify trends or variances. Review and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Ensure timely payments to suppliers and collection of outstanding receivables. Reconcile customer and vendor accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual expenditures against budget allocations. Support management with financial analysis and business planning. Prepare variance analysis and recommendations. Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, accounting standards, and company policies. Prepare and support tax filings, statutory reports, and regulatory submissions. Assist with internal and external audits. Maintain supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Conduct financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making. Evaluate business performance and provide recommendations for improvement. Analyze costs, profitability, cash flow, and financial risks. Support investment and business case evaluations. Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls. Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Ensure adherence to financial procedures and governance requirements. Assist with policy development and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with management, auditors, banks, regulators, and external stakeholders. Provide financial information and support to department managers. Assist with financial presentations and management reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. ACCA Minimum of 3–7 years of accounting, finance, audit, or financial reporting experience. Experience within Oil & Gas, Energy, Banking, Insurance, Construction, Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Logistics, or Professional Services would be highly desirable as we are creating pools for all industries REF: CM
