Inventory Worker

Summary

To perform a variety of tasks involved in maintaining inventory organisation, and the delivery / shipment of stock, including receiving, verifying, storing, packing and issuing of stock.

Location: The position will be based at Guyana head office.
Dimensions: The Inventory Worker will report directly to the Logistics and Inventory Manager.

Responsibilities:

1. Inventory

a) Receive and unpack stock. Systematically pack items in the warehouse as specified by the Inventory Controller.
b) Enter goods received onto the computerised inventory system.
c) Periodically count inventory material, merchandise, components, or supplies.
d) Record stock information into logbook or computer and prepare batch headers for data conversion.
e) Inform Inventory Controller of all merchandise received and of current status of all supplies in stock.
f) Assist the Inventory Controller in maintaining outstanding orders, purchase orders, and requisition files.
g) Transport and transfer supplies and equipment from one area to another.
h) Fill requisitions from various areas.
i) Interact with customers as required and maintain a high level of customer service.
j) Deliver goods to customers.
k) Ensure that all goods delivered are in a saleable condition, i.e., free of rust and dust.
l) Load and unload trucks, vans, and/or any other delivering automobiles.
m) Assist in special and scheduled storeroom inventories.

2. Forklift Operation and Machine

a) Possess full operational knowledge of all machinery used in the department, together with all safety requirements, features and precautions.
b) Maintain full understanding of the forklift’s operation including loading limitations.
c) Demonstrate at all times safe and accurate control of the forklift and possess a valid license to drive a forklift.
d) Operate all machinery safely including any machine settings and adjustments to ensure product conforms to all QC standards.
e) Make simple adjustments where necessary and be aware of signs indicating machinery malfunction.
f) Maintain familiarity with maintenance schedules and procedures and carry out daily checks and basic operational maintenance of forklifts and machinery used within the department, especially cleaning to ensure trouble-free operation.

3. General Duties

a) Learn and perform assignments in accordance with established health and safety, company policies and procedures
b) Refer to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work and perform work in accordance – that includes performing specified quality control and assurance checks.
c) Maintain good housekeeping, orderly conditions, and clean work areas in assigned work sites including warehouse.
d) Assist with the loading and off-loading of containers as may be required.
e) Assist in periodic and end of year stock takes.
f) At shift end, ensure equipment has been turned off and secured as per company policy and procedure.

Qualifications / Experience
At least five (5) CXC with General level passes of Grades I, II or III including
Mathematics and English along with at least two (2) years of related work
experience.

1. Good oral and written communication skills.
2. Ability to use a computer.
3. Knowledge of MS Office applications.
4. Ability to utilize the Sage ERP System in all areas of the roles.
5. Experience in the Painting and Manufacturing Industry.
6. Ability to follow work rules, work independently, be flexible and be willing to perform
variety of jobs.
7. Ability to use machinery/equipment required.
8. Ability to operate forklifts or other lifting devices according
to safe operational and governmental requirements.
9. Ability to regularly lift up to 100 pounds manually.
10. Good physical health and strength.
11. A self-starter with a high degree of initiative
12. Excellent time management skills.
13. Ability to work in a team-based environment.
14. A strong record of achieving results.
15. Ability to manage and follow through with multiple projects
